Syria conflict: IS claims wave of bombings that kills dozens

Eight suicide bombings IS CLAIMS WAVE in two stages left five people dead and dozens injured Monday in Qaa, a mainly Christian Lebanese village near the Syrian border, do we learned from sources close to the security services.

No claim has been made, but the jihadist Islamic State armed group are strongly suspected.

The first four attacks, committed early, caused the death of five civilians.

Attacked by a resident, a first kamikaze put his fire load, then three others did the same as people flocked to the scene of the explosion. Four soldiers were among the wounded, the military said.

The second wave of attacks took place in the evening, while the funerals of the first victims were preparing.

Both were committed to a church, say sources close to the security services. No one was killed, but there are 15 wounded, according to medical staff.

Local authorities have invited the villagers to stay home and take in views of the suspects. The governor of the province has also imposed a curfew to Syrian refugees.
